And Galliwicket!!!!
Why is it called a wicket? The word "wicket" comes from "wicket gate", which refers to a small gate. Cricket wickets used to have two stumps and one bail, resembling a gate, and were similar to the wicket used in the North American game of wicket.
Cricket is extremely popular in India, played on almost every street and alleyway in the country. This is why the informal name for the game, "Galli cricket" and we named it as "Galliwicket," comes from the Hindi word for street, "galli."
